2011

Visible illusions of a frozen body

The project deals with the now so common question of making long distance contacts possible and looks into with every-day intimacy of the visible and non-visible in the camera.

Idea and performance: Urša Sekirnik and Jou Serra Foraste
Production: KUD NUM, 2012
With support of: Municipality of Škofja Loka, Slovenia, Public Fund for Cultural Activities, Slovenia and trgantDansa, Barcelona

At the focus of the authors' interest is the idea of two people who share (with) a distance, their physical solitude, which is strongly marked by personal freedom and the awareness that there is someone with whom you can share and who gives you the feeling that you are not alone. The topic thus touches on the current reality of expanded possibilities of maintaining contacts at a distance and deals with the everyday intimacy of the visible and invisible in the camera. The intimacy of a gaze that travels long distances to see another body.
