Bestiari Dixit

Bestiari Dixit is a commisioned work for the Balla’m un llibre project by the APdC dance association and Libraries of Cataloni. The piece focuses on various elements of Joan Fuster i Ortells’s work Bestiari.

The pictorial and imaginary potential generated by the different aphorisms by Fuster are transferred to the stage, using movement and voice as a starting point. We treat the literary material the same way we treat movement, form, and gesture; creating a parallelism in the relationship between words, sounds (voice) and movement: how do sounds, letters, words resonate with body and movement and give it meaning?

The book itself was an inspiration to create a performative installation based on modular pieces by Anna Llimós, that, in dialogue with moving bodies, generate suggestive images that interact with Fuster’s work.
